Geology and Earth Science at Saint Rose
B.S. in Geology, B.A. in Earth Science Adolescence Education
The College of Saint Rose offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology (through the School of Math and Sciences) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Earth Science Adolescence Education (through the School of Education). Students in both majors take six core courses in common (Introductory Geology, Historical Geology, Aqueous Systems, Mineralogy/Petrology I, Sedimentology and Stratigraphy, and Structural Geology and Tectonics). Geology majors then take Mineralogy/Petrology II and three additional upper-level geology courses (for example, Hydrogeology, Petroleum Geology, Economic Geology, and/or Glaciers and Climate Change). All geology courses have a lab section and typically include field trips. Our alumni can be found working in environmental consulting companies, attending graduate school, teaching, and running science labs. More info here.
